Report: UK scales back investigation against businessman Fridman
MOSCOW, Apr 4 (PRIME) -- The U.K. National Crime Agency has dropped two of three lines of inquiry against sanctioned Russian billionaire Mikhail Fridman after his arrest in December 2022, The Financial Times reported on Tuesday.
“The UK is no longer investigating two of the three initial allegations against Mikhail Fridman four months after arresting the sanctioned Russian oligarch at his London mansion,” the daily reported.
“The National Crime Agency… has stopped probing… the businessman on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud the Home Office and conspiracy to commit perjury… The agency is still investigating suspected money laundering offences,” it also reported citing people with knowledge of the decision.
